Acyclovir
What is acyclovir?
Acyclovir (Zovirax) is an antiviral drug. It slows the growth and spread of the herpes virus so that the body can fight off the infection. Acyclovir will not cure herpes, but it can lessen the symptoms of the infection.
Acyclovir is used to treat infections caused by herpes viruses. Illnesses caused by herpes viruses include genital herpes, cold sores, shingles, and chicken pox.
Amoxicillin
What is Amoxicillin?
Amoxicillin is a penicillin antibiotic. It fights bacteria in your body.
Amoxicillin is used to treat many different types of infections caused by bacteria, such as ear infections, bladder infections, pneumonia, gonorrhea, and E. coli or salmonella infection. Amoxicillin is also sometimes used together with another antibiotic called clarithromycin (Biaxin) to treat stomach ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori infection. This combination is sometimes used with a stomach acid reducer called lansoprazole (Prevacid).
Avandia
What is Avandia?
Avandia (rosiglitazone) is an oral diabetes medicine that helps control blood sugar levels.
Avandia is for people with type 2 (non-insulin-dependent) diabetes. It is sometimes used in combination with other medicines, but it is not for treating type 1 diabetes.
Avandia is not recommended for use with insulin.
Taking Avandia may increase your risk of serious heart problems, such as heart attack or stroke. Therefore, this medcicine is available only to certain people with type 2 diabetes that cannot be controlled with other diabetes medications.
Ciloxan
What is Ciloxan?
Ciloxan is an antibiotic in a group of drugs called fluoroquinolones. Ciloxan (Ciprofloxacin) fights bacteria in the body.
Ciprofloxacin ophthalmic (for the eyes) is used to treat eye infections caused by bacteria. Ciprofloxacin ophthalmic is also used to treat an ulcer in the cornea of the eye.
Plavix
What is Plavix?
Plavix (clopidogrel) keeps the platelets in your blood from coagulating (clotting) to prevent unwanted blood clots that can occur with certain heart or blood vessel conditions.
Plavix is used to prevent blood clots after a recent heart attack or stroke, and in people with certain disorders of the heart or blood vessels.
Zithromax
What is Zithromax?
Zithromax is an macrolide antibiotic related to erythromycin.It fights bacteria in the body.
Zithromax is used to treat many different types of infections caused by bacteria, such as respiratory infections, skin infections, ear infections, and sexually transmitted diseases.
In children, it is used to treat middle ear infection, pneumonia, tonsillitis, and strep throat.
